New Yorkers prepare to greet Trump at Game 3.

Trump, the great anti-Trump organizer…
I’m so looking forward to tonight’s game. I was hoping the finals would go seven games, but soon realized the young Spurs, including Wemby, aren’t quite finals-ready. Now it’s looking more like a Knicks sweep, and to make it even sweeter for NY fans, dithering Donald Trump, the most hated man ever to invade Gotham, has committed to forcing his ample behind into a seat at the Garden for game 3.
Trump was personally invited by Jim Dolan, the team’s owner and a longtime friend of the president.
It’s like throwing raw meat to the lions. Knicks fans have been busy all week trying to make up posters and chants that rhyme with Fuck Trump.
Trump has openly trashed the NBA as a bastion of player activism with overt liberal politics that could “destroy” the game of basketball. He’s deeply unpopular in New York City, with a historically low job approval rating.
From the Gothamist:
[NYPD Commissioner Jessica] Tisch said at a news conference. “There will unfortunately be no watch party outside of Madison Square Garden.” To enter the security zone, all ticket holders — whether for the Knicks game or for trains at Penn Station — will have to use specific entry zones to be screened by the NYPD.
I can only imagine the contrast if and when Mayor Mamdani is introduced or when he gets to ride on the team float down Broadway in the hoped-for victory parade.
Mamdani confirmed he would attend Game 3 but noted that he’d be “in a very different section” from President Trump.
The Mayor has announced a free Knicks watch party at Bryant Park. This comes after watch parties outside of Madison Square Garden were canceled due to Trump’s attendance.
Thank you, Donald Trump. You’re our best anti-Trump organizer.

Scott Pelley, longtime CBS News correspondent and former 60 Minutes anchor

Pelley accused Bari Weiss of putting “a thumb on the scale” for Trump in CBS’s coverage of the police killing of Renee Good. Pelley charged that Weiss pressed producers to frame protesters as more violent and to describe Good as “driving toward the officer,” despite video evidence that did not support that narrative. Pelley called it political interference, unlike anything he’d seen in nearly four decades at CBS. — NY Times interview
