Yes, these were two unlikely subjects for one show, but they seemed to work well on Friday. First up was Fred Klonsky unpacking last week’s Academy Awards show, and then our guest, author/journalist/filmmaker Tracy Ullman (not the comedian) described the connection between serial killer John Wayne Gacy and the Chicago political machine.
I only caught some of it, flipping back and forth from the Bulls game. I must also confess, I haven’t been inside a move theater since the Covid pandemic hit, nor have I seen Oppenheimer or the Barbie movie. Does that make me a bad person?
Tracy is the executive producer of the Peacock Original docuseries John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise and co-author of a new book, The Serial Killers Apprentice
