Biden's air drops won't cut it.

After pushing last week for billions more in bombs and missiles for Israel, a hapless Pres. Biden on Friday agreed to have US warplanes carry out airdrops into Gaza. I had to do a double-take when I heard the word “airdrops”. It turns out, that a few US and Jordanian Air Force planes were sent in to drop (not bombs for a change) from the air into Gaza after Israelis blocked the aid trucks. The bundles did not include water or medical supplies.
How that limited amount of food is supposed to reach and be distributed among the hundreds of thousands of starving Gazans, including dying children is beyond me.

This follows the “Flour Massacre” on Thursday, the most horrific event of the genocidal war so far when IDF troops opened fire on hundreds of civilians desperately trying to reach the few food trucks that had crossed over from Egypt. At least 112 Palestinians were killed and more than 750 others were wounded. This wasn't aerial bombardment. This was a ground-level mass assassination. Many of the wounded died when they were run over by Israeli trucks and tanks while lying on the ground.
Prs. Biden failed to condemn the massacre and said on Friday that he "trusts Israel will investigate the incident." (Haaretz)
Abeting the crime was the White House misinformation team, an embedded and compliant US media that described the mass starvation like it was a natural disaster or famine rather than a determined genocidal, ethnic-cleansing strategy being implemented by the Netanyahu clique and supported by billions of US dollars. The Western press has been repeating or inventing lie after lie about the massacre, faithfully echoing Israel’s claim that the deaths were caused by “chaos” and a “stampede” rather than by IDF gunfire. CNN described the Israeli massacre as a “chaotic incident.”

The New York Times was caught fabricating stories about Hamas weaponizing rape in its Oct. 7th attack. And now the Times Guild has sent a letter to Times publisher AG Sulzberger claiming NYT management has been singling out Arab and Muslim staff for interrogation on suspicion of leaking the information about the internal staff revolt over the false articles, to outside critical media.
The worst of the worst is Biden’s new Liar-in-Chief on Gaza, John Kirby who, when asked why Israel is allowed to “investigate itself” responds:
"We do think the indications are they're taking this seriously...there have been examples in the past where they've investigated incidents and have been very honest & upfront."

Senior editors and leaders of 36 global news outlets issued an open letter on Friday affirming their support for Palestinian journalists in Gaza, 89 of whom have been killed in the war since October 7. The letter noted that "Attacks on journalists are also attacks on truth. We commit to championing the safety of journalists in Gaza, which is fundamental for the protection of press freedom everywhere."
